About the Rules

When customizing reports, it is important to not combine data elements at various levels in the same query to prevent values from being multiplied. For example, when pulling total claim charges, it is important to not pull service level information into the query. Otherwise, the total claim charges will be multiplied by the number of service lines on the claim. In this case the total claim charges and service line information should be put into two separate queries.

Included in this folder:

  • Universe Model Rules illustrates which data elements can and cannot be combined in the same query for the Acuity, Remit, Clearance, and Change Analysis universes.

  • Data Dictionaries provide complete listings of objects available in the Acuity, Remit, Clearance, and Change Analysis universes.

  • Remit Universe to 835 Mapping is a mapping of the 835 structure to the objects in the Remit universe. This spreadsheet contains objects that come directly from the 835 only--not from Assurance processing.
